AUTHOR'S NOTE: Be aware this is drastically shortened because there is a mix between challenging Forest Service Enviornmental Impact Statements of the past and the value of Wildlife today. We ask forgiveness in any repeated remarks which may result. You have the opportunity to get the basic idea of the values that should concern you as a responsible voting citizen.

Thank you: GG.

WILDLIFE: AN AMERICAN IDEAL AND HER VALUES: #1

Introduction: Forests

For decades, private American & Foreign interests have been exterminating America's National Forests, Wildlife, their homes and the Land, acquiring huge profits in the callous process. In the west, the U.S. Forest Service sells timber at criminally low prices to national and international timbering concerns, which includes Japanese and Chinese interests. America's timber is on a slow boat to China. Your National Forests that are supposed to be held in trust, by the U.S. Forest Service are being stolen and sent overseas.

One 350 year-old tree is worth thousands of dollars. It is sold to a mill for less than five dollars. The Criminal Conspiracy includes the United States Forest Service and the logging industry. The value of this tree is 26,359.14332 rolls of toilet paper. The cost of one roll of toilet paper is .79 Cents per roll for a total of $20,823.72. The 350-year-old tree, which was purchased for $1.75, grossed the pulp mill a total profit of $10,543.60. Is it any wonder you will see logging trucks travelling over 200 or more miles for a load of public timber? One truck load of virgin timber is worth well over $200,000.00. This is why your National Forests are being flushed away.

AXIOM: Without Habitat, there is no wildlife. You are allowing your National Forests (past, present and future) to be used mainly in the wipe rectums business and flushed down toilets. Is it any wonder why logging trucks will travel hundreds of miles for one load of logs that are basically free to the paper mills if one tree has a profit margin of over $25,000.00 as toilet paper? It is time to figure an invention or process that will clean rectums without having to use paper. Newspapers and toilet paper are your National Forests number one enemies.

SILENT MAJORITY IS A DUPED AMERICA:

National Forests belong to the all the American People, not the Private Interests who are hauling it away in huge clearcut blocks. Special interests pay many politicians off with your timber. When this occurs, the government ceases to be the faithful servant that is supposed to protect the better interests of the American People.

COMPROMISING AWAY YOUR FORESTS:

One of the tests of ownership is whether or not the purported owner is free to sell or give away the property in question, without the okay of the owners. If the Forest Service doesn't need the approval of the American public before it enters into Sweetheart Deals, your last vestiges of virgin forests are condemned. What remains is being destroyed as you read this.

The entire Forest Service works for logging companies and this isn't the way it was meant to be. Congress set up to the Forest Service as the custodian of your forest lands. Quis custodiet custodes? Who is watching the watchman? America's property has been a source to pay off "political debts." It seems there are those who think they owe the public nothing and the private logging interests everything in the name of jobs, which is the oldest and worst excuse to continue exterminating your remaining virgin forests. Not much remains.

Nothing promotes cash flow more for less money than the remaining lands set aside mainly for recreation. If State leaders are pleased with the income provided by American visitors and tourists, they should be thrilled with all remaining recreational National Forests set up as as Wilderness. Without original timber, reflective originality is destroyed for lifetimes and forever. America will never see what has been cut and taken away, again. The Forest Service has never, won't ever, will never, and can never duplicate God's finest work. Its main purpose is to cut trees. A tree is worth more to this planet more alive than dead, yet a dead tree supports just as much wildlife as a live one and is just as important.

A land without forests is a dead land. A dead tree produces thousands of pounds of insects for wild and rare birds in the course to its final decomposition into mountain top soils. When you remove trees in such vast amounts as is done in clear cutting, you remove top soil.

Don't go around saying wildlife and wilderness owes you a living. It owes industry nothing. It was here first. Yet we fail to recognize we have made extinct over 75% of what originally was the total of all life in the last 100 years, and the Forest Service is the Number #1 criminal. No one can appreciate just how pathetic a fact this is except the few astronauts who have seen this earth from a detached view against the great, black background called space.

If, we imagine a school black board and compare it's large size as the starting area of wilderness the North American Continent began with, it would be a fairly accurate. Should anyone take a piece of chalk and throw it across the room, exploding it against the black slate, the mark remaining would represent the amount of National Forests remaining and the wildlife in it Every day, the Forest Service exterminates species in areas they are active. The United States Forest Service is a welfare agency for loggers and both are nothing more than destroyers of homes for thousands of life forms. Clear cutting is so stupid, it boggles the mind.

Technological civilization has consumed all wilderness except the remaining National Forests that needs to be preserved and protected. The only option to our salvation is Zero Timbering on all Federal Lands. It's time timber companies grew their own timber on private property. All Forest Service Alternative Plans promotes extinction of what originally was the total of what was forests and the life within them in the last 130 years. Forest Service Alternatives don't work and you have 130 years of timbering practices to prove that. As long as you allow your lands to be considered as nothing more than "Agricultural Plots," you're land is raped. America's National Forests needs to be removed from under the control of the Department of Interior and the Forest Service. The Forest Service is being run by biased environmental criminals who are robbing you of your national treasures and natural resources which are NOT renewable.

EXTINCTION: An eternal word, unchangeable that inadequately explains the elimination of thousands of species from Planet Earth. Earth, is the only planet known in the universe to support "life"and no other planet in millions of galaxies have them either.

Wilderness: Is original and untouched by human endeavors. It is unique. America has little of it remaining in proportion to its burgeoning population growth. You are not an animal like all the rest, you are a virus.

FOREST SERVICE ALWAYS IGNORES ENDANGERED SPECIES:

Clear cutting timber creates thousands of miles of roads that destroys mountain vistas forever. The damage is a knife slash on America's Mona Lisa's face. These road scars last for thousands of years.

Michigan hasn't seen a Pileated Woodpecker in nearly 100 years because of the same timbering practices now used throughout America.

I was young enough to see with my own eyes the last ancient wilderness of Michigan destroyed by logging, and I'm old enough to see the comparison in the hard wood forests of Arkansas and other southern states.

History teaches public servants nothing because they ignore it. Forest Service business is the people's business. It should not be a lobby serving private interests by hiding greater values and truths from voters and not giving adequate representation to the American People.

The Forest Service is on a timber cutting rampage! This should involve national television and investigating reporting. Then "if they then turn their backs to the fire and get scorched in the rear," as President Lincoln said, "the people will find they have got to sit on the blister."

Its only fair the people be given the information of the size of that blister, perpetuated upon them over a long period of time by cleverly manipulated Senate Meetings, by special interest groups that get private audiences, and those in governement who are willing to sacrifice greater public values for lesser ones. Rarely can we hope that there exist individuals strong enough to right their wrongs in politics. I haven't seen it often in the past. I don't expect to see it in the future.

THE DOLLARS AND CENTS OF WILDERNESS & WILDLIFE:

America's remaining forests should be maintained as wilderness because:

1) They are financially more valuable used for recreation and wildlife.

2) As wilderness, they have more value financially for the nation.

3) Virgin Forests that are destroyed are permanent in nature.

4) Commercializing the little that remains is excessive and wrong.

5) All Forests are being destroyed.

The greatest challenge of the future is not Space Travel but rather the preservation of what remains on this earth, before civilization came here.

Wildlife has great financial values. This is in direct defiance of all historical agricultural statements and lies, that agriculture creates more dollars than wilderness and wildlife does.

Wildlife IS Big Business and it's bigger than what everyone has been led to believe.

RESEARCH BEGAN IN 1972:

Department of economics, Colorado State University 1972 - 1974 studies and reports, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the Colorado Cattleman's Association, the Bureau of Land Management, state and federal officials in the states of Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, Montana, Arkansas, Oregon, Washington, Steel Headers Associations, Federation of Fly Fishermen, Trout Unlimited, National Rifle Association, references include updated consumers price index figures received from Mr. Charles Wallace 13 Dec 79 for the period from October 1974 - 1979 October, Bureau of Labor Statistics for the entire United States average, consumer price index, national index at that time 47.3% (percent) using the multiplier as directed by Mr. Charles Wallace as 1.473, from the Kansas City, MO. Office and statistics/responses taken from thousands of American Sportsmen on a questionnaire.

NOTES:

Should anyone care to update the consumer index from 1979 to the present year, printed dollar values would increase.

Of specific interest are the 1984 Montana and Idaho hunting and fishing income values.

RECREATION, WILDERNESS, & WILDLIFE vs AGRICULTURE:

A Mule or Whitetail Deer is worth $1,044.36 harvested to the State of Montana, Arkansas and Idaho. Whitetail Deer have greater fiscal monetary profit values in heavily hunted Eastern States.

WHAT ONE DEER DOES FOR A STATE'S ECONOMY:

Out of this figure, each state receives the license fees. The remainder goes to dealers in equipment, motels, vehicle and truck sales, including trail bikes, campers, tents, coffee shops, to outfitters, restaurants, guides, gasoline, fuel oil, lantern fuels, services in service stations of varied sorts and many, petroleum industries, newspapers, magazines, advertising by all with vested interests and special sales, store keepers etc., doctors, tire shops, mechanical shops, grocery stores, department stores, clothing, finance companies, banks for loans, hotels, traffic tickets, sight seeing attractions, ammunition manufacturers, gun shops and sporting goods stores, catalog companies on a national basis, shoe manufacturers, grain and hay feed companies, horse sales and trading ventures, horseshoers, agricultural products, and tens of thousands of other businesses directly and indirectly.

Americans run and own these services. Outdoor Recreation is a viable, living entity requiring the dedication and financial vocations of millions of Americans that it supports. Whether that vocation is the manufacture of a new set of brakes for a pickup, to a simple pair of shoelaces. These voters have bills to pay and families to support. Each is vital to social and financial inter-course that affects all citizens. It's impossible not to name someone who isn't affected or doesn't benefit from wildlife values, or who doesn't receive money each year because of their existance directly or indirectly.

This example applies using the Mule Deer values in 1979 as compiled using Charles Wallace's report. To Update to present month you read this report, simply call the Bureau of Labor Statistics in Kansas City, MO, asking for correctional update from October 1979, use multiplier given and multiply $1,044.36 value for updated figure, add on and total. This will apply to all figures in this report unless otherwise stated as current.

Multiply the amount of harvested Mule Deer in 1984, State of Montana with Agriculture, timbering, mining, individually or collectively don't produce the money every American Citizen obtains and shares as in the business of Outdoor Recreation Pursuits alone. This defies all the agricultural financial lies the Department of Agriculture uses to justify mismanage your remaining NATIONAL FORESTS.

(Proofs to follow)

Outdoor Recreation is directly responsible for more social interplay and money exchanges than any other industry in the United States. This truth is difficult to understand without marketing examples. Marketing studies happens to be one of our assets.

Previously, I mentioned examples from shoelaces to brake shoes. For every product that outdoor people of America purchase, twenty-three Americans are employed. Buy a pair of shoelaces, and that product employs an average of twenty-three people.

Each product in agriculture doesn't employ a high average number of people because it's an individualized business and it's a highly proficient and profitable mechanical business.
Thousands of cattle can be raised and sold by one person. One combine harvests A thousand acres of wheat, averaging 60 bushels an acre equals 60,000 bushels of grain and is usually grown by only one or two people and it. One individual can produce food to feed a lot of people. Anyone that can gross $300,000.00 a year on only a thousand acres is rich.

A pickup truck a farmer uses has thousands of parts. It takes an average of twenty-three people to produce each part but as an individual, the average farmer doesn't own any more pickups than the automotive worker who made his. The point is: There are more Americans who don't farm, than who do. There are more nonagricultural Americans that use the American Outdoors than agriculture does, but all recreational lands destroyed have been destroyed by agriculture while no agriculture has ever been destroyed by the public at large. This is an amazing paradox.

Outdoor Recreation and the many pursuits in the great outdoors includes, hunting, fishing, tenting, walking, boating, bird watching, camping, horseback trail riding, rafting, canoeing, boating, picnics, photography, hunting with a camera, painting, entomology of insect hatches creates fly-tying (and the thousands of items required to support it), sight seeing, mountain climbing, snow shoeing, biology, vacations, summer travel with the children, the lure of Americana, out-of-state permit drawings, guided expeditions, etc., etc., etc., uses almost every known product produced in America numbering millions of parts, times twenty-three employed people for each part required.

Updated index used 1979 value, one species only. Outdoor Recreation does not put a Mason-Dixon Line between farming and non-farming Americans, but Agriculture may no longer claim to be the number one source of income in any State against the awesome sums spent by the majority of Americans in Outdoor Recreational pursuits in their State, Federal Lands or in their National Forests. It's time we realize what this business of "Outdoor Recreation" means as a rewarding and highly profitable American business enterprise.

DEER DOLLARS:

A Mule Deer, Black Tail or White Tail is worth $1044.36 in 1979 to every State that has them. The individuals required to pursue and capture one animal require a substantial group investment. This varies upon a State's success ratio statistics based on deer populations each given year

HABITAT:

Ask any responsible Fish, Wildlife & Parks, or Division of Wildlife Official what is the number one cause of wildlife depreation and extinction and his answer will be "The loss of Habitat."

What does HABITAT do? Habitat means food; it means cover, warmth, and protection from the elements. Removing habitat is like removing all the doors, windows, and roofs from your home. That includes the furnace. Without YOUR habitat, nature will kill you. You get cold, you die. Simple as that.

Habitat is grass, berries and trees. Habitat is a dead tree which is just as important as a live tree; Habitat is the glue that holds this earth together. Habitat is the home of all things. Food, is habitat.

HABITAT provides a means of escape for wildlife when in danger.

HABITAT provides a place to be warm when cold, and cool when hot.

HABITAT retains moisture so floods don't happen.

HABITAT provides a place to build nests in hidden places and habitat provides peace and quiet.

HABITAT is a thick buffer zone away from speedy times and stresses. Many forms of wildlife cannot tolerate stress or the presence of humans or their machinery.

HABITAT means the preservation and PROTECTION from becoming extinct. The destruction reeked on public lands by human activities exceeds all social benefits that use it. There is a conflict between men who invade forests and the wildlife that must live there.

Wilderness is the last of what was the condition of an entire unpolluted continent before the coming of 'the white man'. All of it is gone, except these forests that probably, doesn't belongs to you anymore. Little remains and it cannot be shared by so many any longer.

CATTLE ON PUBLIC LANDS AND IN PUBLIC FOREST:

"a high country stream flowing through overgrazed land, now deforested"

It's not fair to use one monopoly example without reporting what other outdated practices are now practiced on your lands. There are too many Federal Agencies getting away with mismanagement of America's resources. The Agricultural Department ISN'T just talking timbering, they are talking something more incideous for wilderness. They promote "Multiple Use" and this guarantees permanent degraded alterations of what remains.

The federal slogan, "Multiple Use" is a malignant slogan because it implies "something for everybody. Under this banner we have an unworkable, conflicting, idealistic, back stabbing slogan. When idealism, which should be tested first before promoting new ideas become a reality; that idea, after proofs and testing should reflect realism. Multiple Use has proved itself to be a costly resource failure and guess who footed the bill?

Multiple Use is a lie to the subconscious mind. "Multiple Use" is the biggest con in our political history. Nothing has paid a greater price than the varied life forms that live in America's National Forests. Nothing has caused America to loose more land to private interests than this slogan has. Nothing is more vicious against wilderness than Multiple Use is. There isn't anything that can provide "something for everybody." There is no possibility of "Multiple Use" working any better than "Perpetual Motion," does.

Wildlife and Multiple Use are archenemies. The very idea consumes wilderness. In order for Multiple Use to exist, it needs wilderness to assault. Multiple Use is like a public toilet, everyone is allowed to go in it.

Without Multiple Use attached to wilderness the wanton taking of oil, minerals, trees, land, and water by special interests goes out the window. "Multiple Use,"consumes all that is associated with it. There is a major difference between "Multiple and Preferred Use." Specific Use, would slow or stop conflicting management policies.

Under Multiple Use, the grizzly bear cannot find an unhampered home from the greater predator, man. Under Preferred or Special Use the grizzly bear and other species that need peace and quiet have a chance. What makes Wilderness under Specific Use Management so promising is that animals would share their homes with less destructive people. America needs something dedicated to the people and outside agriculture interests if these lands are to survive special interest's claws. A Department for the Preservation of Wilderness Lands is an exciting concept.

WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT INCOMPETENCE:

What one cow consumes in wilderness habitat starves out 3.1 Wapiti worth $24,918.75 to the State of Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming each month it grazes on National Forest lands.

No singular industry exterminates as many elk, deer and antelope as allowing livestock to graze on public lands. It's not in the best interest of timber or livestock interests to publicly admit big game, fishing, and Outdoor Recreation is the wisest and most profitable use of Federal Lands. Anything that is in the "best interest" of agriculture is in the "apathetically interest" of our citizens on public lands simply because agriculture gets away with it.

Putting it into perspective, Multiple Use to Wilderness is as repulsive as a Dictatorship is to Democracy. Both don't work except in the Department of Agriculture.

MISMANAGEMENT EXAMPLES: COWS TO COYOTES BY AGRICULTURE:

What is the value of one Wapiti? The value of a Wapiti was $8,306.25 in 1979 to the States of Colorado, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico,Wyoming, Oregon and Washington and to all States that harbor these species.

Its not smart agricultural politics to permit the public to know that Coyotes (Canis Latrans) are worth more financially to this Nation's economy than a calf, believe it or not. It's a case of whose ox is getting gored.

For Example: Each Coyote has substancial worth in the Fur Market of $46.10 in 1979 as verified by Jonas Brothers and Lloyd Furs (Denver Colorado) was: $85 - $200.00 equals from $131.10 to $246.50 value for each Coyote living on Federal lands. Pelt values tanned, and untanned, were obtained from fur buyers other than locally sampled. Yearly values of any pelts are in direct proportion to supply and demand. During times of war, coyote fur is highly prized as parka lining for around the face of our fighting men in cold climates.

A coyote coat, after cutting and manufacture for the fur houses, and following specific, demanding patterns and instructions in New York is returned to Denver or Seattle and sell from $4000.00 to $8,000.00 each.

There are few calves worth as much money. The number of coyote hides in just one coat, divided into several thousand dollars does indeed make the Canis Latran a very valuable animal as a source of income for America. But more valuable than being a harvested and killed animal, the Coyote alive is worth far, far more.

HABITAT: Provides the following values and profits through American Sportsmen in Outdoor Recreation endeavors.

EACH:

     MOUNTAIN GOAT IS WORTH $12,180.04
     COUGAR IS WORTH $2,356.80
     WAPITI IS WORTH $8,306.25
     BLACK BEAR IS WORTH $9,427.20
     TURKEY $503.01
     GOOSE $248.52
     COTTON TAIL RABBIT $31.03
     BIG HORN SHEEP $16,497.60

From "Benefit\Cost Analysis and Mitigation of Wildlife Losses" Colorado Division of Wildlife: Wildlife Task Force. Price Index Corrections to October 1979 and questionnaires on economics interviewing 202 hunters over a period of three years by this researcher. Add the $46.10 onto $85 $131.10

A COW has no such value 0.00 except to the individual owner.

VALUES FORESTS SUPPORT:

Spring Solar snowmelts are controlled by a forest's canopy. Also, trapping helps many students, young adults and untold thousands of other citizens and retired citizens to make money or to save for their college years. This is in addition to teaching young adults a deep sense of responsibility and the work ethic.

Fur bearing animals have tremendous financial worth and their large numbers can be retained by leaving all these timber areas intact so that the species may maintain their historical numbers and personalities in a wild, unhampered setting.

Virgin wilderness forests provide a buffering barrier from domestic animals. Without our forests, many wild animals will perish with the introduction of domestic animals and grazing practices on public lands. Thousands of miles of clean/pure water will be polluted.

LIVESTOCK DISEASES SLAUGHTER WILDLIFE:

The Forests and Wilderness Areas provide and support the HABITAT that is perfect for Mountain Goats and Big Horn Sheep. From Alaska, through Canada, all the way to Baja Mexico and Colorado, history proves domestic livestock diseases will exterminate thousands of our wild animals, which provide the highest recreational dollars in every district that are fortunate enough to still have them.

It's extraordinary the Forest Service ignores all this history. Why isn't all this reported and included in detail in the Forest Service Draft Environmental Statement?
Should we allow, through apathy and Forest Service incompetence the final removal of these National Forests, which are so vital to our remaining inventories of rare animals and their survival?

THE POWERFUL AMERICAN CITIZEN DON'T REALIZE THEIR POWER:

There is nothing more consequential in America than an informed public. Uninformed, the Forest Service remains unchecked.

WORD POLLUTION

The choice is WILDERNESS or introductions of space age terms. The Forest Service, along with livestock and timbering will immediately word pollute these areas with some of the following terms:

  1. "Meadows," will become "Range".
  2. "Game Trails," will become "Roads".
  3. "Virgin Wilderness Forests" become "Timber Harvest Levels".
  4. "Utility Corridors" instead of "Non-commercial Intrusions".
  5. "Hiding scars and Mass damage," means "Visual Quality".
  6. "Untouched," becomes "Yield" for loggers.
  7. "Primitive," degrades to "Semi-primitive". (Roads & Trucks)
  8. "Prehistoric perfect," becomes "Suitable Timber Base"

With OUR habitat, a minority becomes rich at the public's expense. The forests the Forest Service proposes to abolish, will no longer exist after cutting.

A forest is a mixture of various tree species and plant life, which contain wonder, excitement, and historic variety. What the Forest Service does is obliterate it all behind a word called "harvest". This word is the vampire of forests. It means, "clear cutting", which finally means "extermination." This is what the Forest Service sincerely is doing in the Montana and Idaho National Forests, including ARKANSAS.

Then, the Forest Service have the impertinence to lead the public that when they do this, later they will replant with specific species of trees, when in fact, the mountain forests taken don't grow back at all because the soil is gone. We have tens upon thousands of acres of mountain sides that have been exterminated of forests where the Forest Service hasn't done a thing, won't do a thing, and doesn't plan to do a thing regarding reforestation. Why? Because its impossible. The devastation is too massive. Secondly, they outright lie to the public to keep themselves in the Forest stealing business. How do the Forest Service, let alone NATURE replace topsoil when the trees that produce it are hauled away? Is it to difficult to understand that a standing tree, dead or alive is indeed, topsoil"?

The Forest Service then introduces livestock. The Forest Service also doesn't explain livestock can be trucked in. Stockmen will make financial killings on apathy and leave total destruction behind, which includes total annihilation of the entire forage from the forest floors. Nothing remains for wildlife. The Forest Service doesn't explain that all water and every stream cattle and livestock defecates into cannot again satisfy a man's thirst. Is this the future for these remaining National Forests?

What gives the Forest Service the right to let any rancher or cattleman to graze cattle and defecate America's rivers and streams for money? Which Senators say it's morally right to pollute Americans mountain streams with livestock? Well, the Forest Service does. When a Wilderness canopy is removed, events prove, grazing permits increase. Competition results between stockmen and our remaining big game herds. Elk and deer competition increases for spring graze, over which livestock always wins. It's historical fact.

The Forests between the Salmon and Bitterroot Valleys cannot tolerate an increase in elk herds. The valley floors won't tolerate it because this is where the winter graze is and ranchers own the valley land. Why didn't the Forest Service Report this? All aft Environmental Impact Statements that says 90% of all these remaining NATIONAL FORESTS will be clear-cut? The Forest Service should report this because harsh winters drive down all the surrounding elk and deer to the lowlands. Where will they go? What will they eat? The Forest Service reports instead of increased big game herds if we let the Forest Service take our timber. Yes, the big game herds would increase, but only because the winter problem will become someone else's. In the end, the herds are exterminated to token numbers and hunters will NEVER again walk on a mountain side without having to cross a road. Fragmentized Forests is the Forest Service's idea of "a quality experience."

Another Example: Who said, we must waste Coyotes or any of nature's natural predators to accommodate habitat destructive livestock and grazing practices on our lands in the first place?

Cattlemen and Sheepmen have promoted this misconception of values. If we don't allow stock on our National Forests, no wildlife has to be killed.

Agriculture and stockmen have perpetuated these wildlife fallacies, none never represented majority America. If we do not allow livestock into National Forests, there would be no need of killing off your wildlife animals.

WHO DICTATES OUTDOOR POLICIES:

Example: On one county level there are 125 ranchers dictating economic policies for over 8,000 citizens in Gunnison County, Colorado alone regarding Public Land decisions there, and for over 300 million Americans.

The Forest Service methods may be within the system, but it isn't a fair process in the best interests of the majority.

I cannot begin to report the number of land management meetings I've attended in my lifetime involving special interests that want something for nothing, for all practical purposes. The meetings are reported in local papers and are attended, but the majority of those attending are the special interests, who always end up dictating how our lands will be used and the sorry fact of the matter is, the public officials STILL BELIEVE these special interests represent the majority which always has been wrong and on which they always base biased decisions upon. THIS is where the process is being used to the public's disadvantage and the special interests advantage.

ARE FOREST SERVICE LEADERS?

No. They are connivers.

Forest Service anarchists are "appointed" not elected. They therefore do not represent the direct will of the people and are free to operate during long tenures of office, insulated "truly" from public disagreements.

WHO I AM:

My name is George Eugene Gehrke: I've been an outdoorsman my entire life. I'm college & library educated and am versed in wide variety of subjects ranging from drafting, mechanical, aeronautical, chemical, structural engineering, marketing, advertising, business administration, biology, physics, mathematics, history, literature, philosophy, art, world history, English, geometry, trigonometry, photography, optics, reloading, fly tying, author, heavy equipment operator, construction, quality control sciences, production scheduling, anthropology, model building, research techniques, probability analysis, astronomy, public speaking, recreational history, American history, hard-rock mining & milling, marketing, painting, computer sciences, bookkeeping, packaging, Indian lore, sales training, to mention a few, all of which are litmus identifiers hiding roots and sub-roots of various technical branches in each subject.

Over 60 years of studying and experience makes me a well educated individual. Compared to a channeled individual who may work for an agency or a company doing one thing, I could say I understand much more because of my varied interests. I'm the President of a fly-fishing products manufacturing company that has been in business for nearly thirty years.

These statements in conservation and ecology are not cut from self-interest cloths but rather won by hard work, travel, observation, and research and being involved in the Great American Outdoors for an entire lifetime on a daily basis. I have invested tens of thousands of dollars printing forms and researching sportsmen for this independent research regarding the actual monetary values of wildlife. I have used every opportunity during business to save, glean, and compile information. I have learned there are more species of life being studied to death than what is being saved. I have discovered that "too much science" is just as dangerous as none at all regarding wildlife and the American Outdoors. If nature, in all her waters, lands, animals, birds, plants, and skies have taught me one thing, it's; "When it comes to the outdoors, humans are no damned good!" It's this one element I am dedicated to disproving, but so far have not been able to and fear I and no one else ever will. For every beer can I pick up, I know a hundred more have already hit the ground and for every trout I release, I know a local will poach five of them before the sun goes down. The human race is breeding too fast and the world is poorer for it.

For over thirty years, my work is to inform Wildlife Wilderness Values on the Monetary Scale of things. This work has not been in vain, for I see my ideas slowly taking root as "other's ideas" which is all right with me. So, if conservation groups, agencies or individuals start using these same concepts from papers such as this that I've mailed out hundreds of times, is fine. It shows one man can make a difference, which is a fine enough epitaph.

WHO ARE SPORTSMEN?

Who protects the Great American West Wilderness and Wildlife?

Sportsmen do.

Who are they? They are not WHO the Forest Service believes they are, because "sportsmen" are the majority of Average Americana.

Overall, two thirds of the American Public and People who use the outdoors, fish. A much larger segment are "sports persons" who just walk, go out, picnic, visit, travel, look, because of the lure of animals and WILDERNESS to which the pressures EXCEED what is available today. West Yellowstone is a perfect illustration of the needs and demands of the American public. The Lower United States has a drastic shortage of unroaded, unhampered wilderness areas of large enough singular size to make wilderness believable anymore. Our people need a place where no vehicles may penetrate. This declaration is in direct dissension of what the Forest Service states as "not being important" in it's many Draft Environmental Impact Statements.
